Hi! I'm Ilse Valencia, CEO of Rosemark Publishing, a children's author, and mom who loves creating stories that teach, inspire, and spark curiosity about the world around us. Whether it's exploring science, chasing big dreams, or discovering something new, I believe books have the power to help kids see all the amazing things they're capable of.
My love for books started when I was young—I'd get lost in stories for hours, imagining magical worlds and big adventures. In middle school, I even wrote my first "books" as part of one of my classes (about math, of all things!), and that's when I made a promise to myself: one day, I'd write a book of my own to share with the world. Life took me on an amazing journey first. I earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering in 2016 and an M.E. in Engineering Management in 2019, building a career where I got to solve problems and explore how things work. That curiosity and love for science? It's woven right into the stories I create today.

When I became a mom in 2021, everything shifted. My daughter inspired me in ways I never imagined, and suddenly, I knew exactly what story I wanted to tell. Even as I continued working as an engineer and navigating the beautiful chaos of motherhood, I couldn't shake the pull to finally write that book I'd promised myself years ago. For nearly four years, I worked on The Glow in Me—writing during nap times, illustrating after bedtime, and finding time wherever I could while juggling full-time motherhood, my job, and building my own company. I even taught myself how to illustrate the book because I wanted to bring this vision to life myself. If there's one thing this journey taught me, it's the same message my book shares: with dedication, resilience, and belief in yourself, dreams can come true.
In 2025, I founded Rosemark Publishing to bring these stories to life, and in 2026, I'm excited to introduce The Glow in Me to families around the globe.
